Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have never come across any person who doesn't love these yummy addictive things!! They are my personal favorites when it comes to cookies and I enjoy it with milk or sometimes with Vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.. Yumm!! The recipe I have shared is super easy and you will be surprised how quick and easy the process is. And I bet, you will never go to the store again to pick these after you try making them your self. So enjoy!!

Ingredients:

All-purpose flour (maida) - 1-1/2 cups
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
Fine white sugar - 1/2 cup
Brown sugar - 1/2 cup packed

Plain unsalted butter, softened - 1/2 cup
Egg - 1 whole
Pure vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Warm water - 1 tsp
Semisweet  or dark chocolate chips - 1 cup

Method:

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and then stir in the vanilla. Mix until smooth. You can do this with a wooden spoon or use the Kitchen Aid if you have it.
- Now mix the baking soda in hot water, dissolve and add to the batter along with salt. Stir in the flour and chocolate chips and fold it carefully to mix well.
- Now take a baking sheet and line it with butter paper or aluminium foil and drop large spoonfuls on it, leaving enough space between each cookie dough.
- Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

Tips:

- You can also add your favorite nuts along with the chips like almonds/walnuts etc
- Do not beat the egg before adding it to the mixture, I did this mistake and that is why my cookies look risen ( they still taste awesome though :) )
- Remember brown sugar and baking soda (not baking powder!!) are key to this recipe to get that nice texture.

Healthy twist:

- You can cut short the sugar by skipping the white sugar and just adding brown sugar
- You can use pure dark chocolate chips instead of the sweet or semisweet ones
- You can just skip the chocolate chips and go in all nuts!! :D
All these tips will significantly reduce the calories per serving.
